Këkht Aräkh unveils the first single from the upcoming album

The black metal project unveiled the single Three winters away from the forthcoming full-length Morning Star. This track is the first to hint at the album’s overall vibe while still preserving its intrigue.

The new composition brings together two separate musical parts written at different times. The first of them was composed by Crying Orc, the founder of Këkht Aräkh, during the work on the album Pale Swordsman (2021).

"A sketch that didn’t quite fit into ‘Pale Swordsman’ waited four years for its time. I wrote the other part of the song in 2025, in a rather anxious state of mind, though with hope for the best. That’s why the riffs carry a triumphant shade," Crying Orc shares with Neformat..

"'Three winters away' is a small play on words, where by 'winters' I mean years. At the same time, it can suggest that winter is a constant presence in the lyrical hero’s world, and that years can be counted as winters."

Among all the tracks of his currently longest album, Morning Star, the artist chose to release the song first, as it illustrates the album’s vibe without revealing its main features.

The announced album will be released on March 27 via Sacred Bones Records.

“The new album is made in the style of ’90s school black metal, just like the previous two. But this time the mood is harsher and the music is more dynamic, which the single demonstrates well. Overall, on the new album I feel more like myself than ever before.”

In addition, by the end of February the artist will reveal another new single.

Këkht Aräkh is a solo black metal project founded in 2018 in Mykolaiv. Behind it stands the anonymous artist Crying Orc, a former drummer of the post-black metal band Cuckoo’s Nest. The project’s discography currently includes two albums and several singles.
