Volver Stone — Silver Light (2019)

Each human wants some warmness for himself while this musician wants it for others. Total mutual understanding between acoustics and Volver Stone makes this desire feasible, letting his songs go further usual audible perception.

It takes enough time to understand one string, but from his very first album, called "Silver Light", Dmytro Bielov demonstrates strong arising tandem of the human and guitar. The career of this musician from Zhytomyr has begun in 2013th year as the frontman of still functioning psychedelic\stoner rock band Night On Fire. But in four years Dmytro gathered determination to organize himself in one-man-band project.

The very first step to solo work was the single "Thunderose Fate", recorded and released, as it is quite often for beginners, singly. Even in that way the roaring bluesy composition managed to attract attention of the popular Ukrainian label Robustfellow, which listed it to the other worth ones in its sampler "Robust Sampler 2018". Cooperation of label and musician was not finished on that as Robustfellow expressed its desire to release the first full length Volver Stone’s acoustic album in May of 2019.

The "Silver Light" album – is the work of oneextended moment, one try, inasmuch as was recorded live and without additional takes. There were only a few microphones and indispensable acoustics in the arsenal of one-man-band. Bohdan Mandriichuk, the bas-guitarist of thrash-metal band Cosmic Anger, helped with mastering process of the future release.

"Silver Light" consists of 5 anglophone songs, following which allows to find yourself right near the foot of guiding star’s magic silver lighting. Release opens itself in that manner the author choses to follow till the very last song – conversation of the traveler with the stars, destiny, raven, each and every who will only hear, about the hardships of life on the road. It is all clearly said in two first compositions "You Smile From Heaven" and homonymous "Silver Light".

"Almost all songs were written during the previous tour. And they demanded to be recorded. But there are still lots of wonderful acoustic compositions which are waiting for the recording, I’m planning to record them in more difficult way with thearrangement and other instruments", - Dmytro Bielov says.

It doesn’t worth expecting to hear brand new original sound from good old acoustics, but the thing it will always be able to do is to lull, give the feeling of home when you’re away. "If You Said Yes" explains why you still should go back to the road and that to follow your path means to leave some things on the sideline, hoping for the best. And if Volver Stone’s acoustic scene colleague Sasha Boole narrates more in recitative and brutal way with his distinctive voice, the plaintive vocals of Volver rises above the rhythms of acoustics, which creates the semblance of movement by its note “steps”. What about thelyrics’ thematic – it makes them somewhat related, though not them only among the artists performing in genre.

"Harder Than Stone" warns about the metamorphoses which lie in wait for the traveler, about the bitterness with which it is needed to reconcile. The composition passes very quickly in hurry to preface the last one – "I’ll Be Gone Singing This Song". In it musician demonstrates by the vocal effort his big desire to come back, to find the way home after numerous meetings and chants, that were only pleasure for the one who believes his only guiding star.

"The next album "Wasteland" will be released this autumn. It is going to be completely different from the previous one, it’ll be punk-blues album with tones of fuzz, loud percussion and rock’n’roll mood" — musican promises.

With this project Dmytro Bielov comes into Ukrainian music field as the hero of another story, and makes it in the most casual way, mixing the explored like his inner sense and life experience say. Under the pseudonym Volver Stone he shares the true atmosphere of his ballades, takes us with him to the trip which we’ll hope ends only with the stars’ shine.
